Mangar Bani sacred grove hill forest, an important biodiversity area. It lies near the forest parts of the Southern Delhi Ridge of the Aravalli Range. In the 'Mera Mangar' initiative, Sehreeti Developmental Practices Foundation supported by Laksh Foundation and Mangar Eco Club is working on developing a relationship between the children and youth and their 'Mangar'

It seeks to inspire a 'sense of belongingness and identity' in the youth and community of Mangar, through a deeper understanding, awareness, and knowledge of their settlement, biodiversity, plants and animals, cultural practices, festivals, landmarks, geographical features, local food and recipes, popular stories, oral histories, and indigenous knowledge and traditions, etc.

In this process of 'habitat study', students are learning various methodologies and tools of creative thinking, observation and documentation, mapping, creative writing, and art. The Sehreeti team interacts with students and teachers of Laksh Foundation at their tuition center on Saturdays and a few Sundays, to together explore the village.

'Mera Mangar' a quarterly magazine is produced of the works of youth and children of Mangar, as they decode various built, natural, and cultural aspects of their habitat.
